Helixa Experience Center, “From the cavern to the metaverse", is a multifunctional and experiential space that proposes a journey through time on the relationship between technology and human beings. Consisting of five rooms, this immersive installation presents some key milestones in human interaction with technology throughout history. Visitors will culminate their experience with the generation of their digital twin, a personalized avatar, in real time.

Architectural set:  1500 x 1500 x 400 cm (h)

Helixa Experience Center is a technological-artistic installation conceived by IFEMA MADRID LAB and promoted in collaboration with the Instituto de Robótica de Valencia and Target 3D and conceptualised and designed by the artistic creator Esther Pizarro, which will be for six months a multifunctional and experiential space, equipped with the latest technology worldwide, where visitors will culminate their experience with the first generation of its digital twin.

The first room, entitled "Belly", takes us back to the Village World, where nature is the protagonist, where humans were nomadic and their natural habitat was the cave.  Seven trees, made of cotton thread fabric, make up a primitive landscape, which serves as a three-dimensional canvas for projections that are cut on an organic and abstract texture.

Belly Installation
7 trees made of recycled cotton thread
Set: 472 x 454 x 400 cm (h)

The second room, entitled "Freedom", places us in the Industrial Revolution, where the means of transportation made our vision of the world expand. This room recreates the interior of a full-scale train carriage, drawn three-dimensionally by means of light. Tubular metal structures serve as physical support for the flexible neon. On the sides of this light structure, two audiovisual projections take us to different landscapes of the Spanish geography.

Liberty Installation
Sculptural structure made in welded tubular iron and covered with flexible neon tube
Set: 700 x 400 x 375 cm (h)

The third room, entitled "Vigía", takes us to a living room in the 1950s. Focused on the impact of the Audiovisual Era, this space emphasizes how the media gave us the opportunity to see the world without leaving our homes. Natural felt is the protagonist material in this room, which is made up of 26 televisions, an armchair, and a rug; surrounded perimetrically by a continuous frieze. When the viewer takes a seat, a videomapping is activated on the set of televisions, which transports us to different milestones of the 50's, to finish including the visitor himself in the multi-screens that are in front of him.

Vigía Installation
26 televisions, armchair and carpet made in natural felt
Set: 567 x 373 x 350 cm (h)

The fourth room, entitled "Coexistence", corresponds to the Digital Era. The visitor will enter the digital world itself, where global interconnection has been made possible thanks to the Internet and mobile devices. A kaleidoscopic room formed by multi-screens envelops the spectator, introducing him in an infinite space surrounded by messages from social networks.

Coexistence Installation
Polyptych of 63 screens and mirrored vinyl
Set: 556 x 378 x 325 cm (h)

The tour culminates in the "Your Digital Twin" room, which introduces us to the Near Future, and which constitutes the technological heart of Helixa. The scanning of the morphological features of each visitor generates its own avatar, with which we interact in real time and that introduces us into the metaverse, through different digital scenarios. A pentagon where walls and floor produce an immersive space of high definition screens, in a technological and digital environment.
