BIOGRAPHY 

Esther Pizarro was born in Madrid in 1967. She graduated in Fine Arts from the Sculpture Department of the Complutense University of Madrid in 1990, where she obtained her PhD in 1995.

Her training is completed thanks to different scholarships that allow her to travel abroad, among them are: Scholarship of Artistic Creation of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation of New York; Scholarship of Plastic Arts of the Casa de Velázquez, Madrid; Scholarship Generation 2000, Caja de Madrid; Scholarship of Plastic Arts of the Academy of Spain in Rome; Scholarship of Plastic Arts of the College of Spain in Paris; Predoctoral Scholarship of Formation of Investigating Personnel in the Complutense University of Madrid. Between 1996 and 1997, he lived in the United States with a Fulbright Commission and Ministry of Education and Culture Grant.

In the academic field, she is Professor of Private University, and is linked since 2003 to the European University of Madrid. In 2020, she joined the Doctoral and Research School of the UEM as a senior researcher. She has been awarded four Sexenios of Research by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA).
