LECTURE: Participation in the DiálogoSUR program organized by SUR School of artistic professions of the Círculo de Bellas Artes

A pleasure to collaborate in DiálogoSUR, organised by SUR Escuela de profesiones artísticas del Círculo de Bellas Artes. We look forward to seeing you on 20.03.2024, at 12:00 - 13:30h. Free admission, Sala María Zambrano, Círculo de Bellas Artes.

In the last DiálogoSUR of the season we will be joined by visual artist, teacher and researcher Esther Pizarro. Her work, between personal work, installation and public art, explores the complexity of contemporary society.

She holds a PhD in Fine Arts from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and is a professor at the Universidad Europea. Her training was completed thanks to a grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation in New York, a scholarship from the Spanish Academy in Rome, a grant from the Colegio de España in Paris and a Fulbright Commission grant.

His artistic work, highly committed to the environment, has pivoted between personal work, installation and public art. His latest projects explore the complexity of contemporary society.

Mobility, connection between cities (physical and digital), polycentric urban systems, data visualisation, climate change and environmental emergencies are some of the themes addressed.

Data, light, sensors, arduinos and microcontrollers are some of the tools used to highlight situations of environmental crisis in our environment; and where the use of new technologies allows the spectator to interact with the work.
