Fragments of History and Landscape is articulated as an imaginary map intrinsically related to the town of Arganda del Rey. The environment, landscape, history and architectural constructions of this town have been selected as determining elements for the identification of the Arganda metro station with its location. A longitudinal section of the map of Arganda has been chosen as the most significant fragment of the urban core and its industrial area. The visual network of lead and copper lines responds to an artistic interpretation of the road layout. The limits of the municipality of Arganda have been defined by a change in the treatment of the background, historical photos versus the first geographical plan that is preserved of this town. The use of different colors in the central volumes indicates the urban growth of the municipality (from the 12th century to the present). Finally, the vertical coordinates are delimited by two dates: 1580 (year in which Philip II granted Arganda the status of Villa de Realengo) and 1999 (date of the project); while the horizontal coordinates respond to the phrase "e agora _dice el rey_ que de aquí en adelante se ha de llamar Arganda del Rey". This project is both a physical and historical journey through the aforementioned town.
