Francos Rodríguez subway station, Madrid

Cartography of an Age constitutes an anamorphosis of the districts of Tetuán and Moncloa, which are physically crossed by the street Francos Rodríguez to which this metro station owes its name.  Parallel to the geographical location, the historical character of the figure of the illustrious Don José Francos Rodríguez has been emphasized; both aspects constituting the determining elements for the identification of the aforementioned station. The plot interpretation of the neighborhoods, which make up both the district of Tetuán and Moncloa, and the journalistic and literary facet of Francos Rodríguez have been treated as background and figure respectively. In this way, the background resembles an aerial view of the most important morphological areas of these neighborhoods. On them, the most significant blocks of the main roads are distributed three-dimensionally. Completing the geographical aspect, we have used newspapers of the time that relate aspects of this character and the time he lived. Thus, fragments of these newspaper pages appear silkscreened on the aluminum that covers the three-dimensional volumes. History and geography come together to give identity to this place.
