PUBLICATION: Cuaderno 256. Universidad de Palermo

🔬🌱 Creativity, sustainability, and innovation come together in a new monograph on Biodesign 🌿✨
We’re excited to share that the research group EcoBD Lab (Creative Ecosystems and Biodesign) has contributed to the publication of Research Journal No. 256: Creativity and Biodesign, coordinated by our PI Esther Pizarro (Universidad Europea - Creative Campus) and Daniella Di Bella (Universidad de Palermo).
This volume is the result of an international collaboration between the Universidad Europea de Madrid and the Universidad de Palermo, and explores how biodesign —a discipline merging biology, art, design, and sustainability— can drive innovative solutions to today’s global environmental challenges.
🌍 The publication is structured in three thematic sections:
- New bio-based materials, including cellulose and the application of AI in sustainable design.
- Art, bioinspiration, and circularity, presenting methodologies such asBiodesign Thinking.
- Conceptual and technological integrations, reflecting on ecology, evolution, and the use of glass in contemporary art.
At EcoBD Lab, our research explores biomaterials, bioinspired environments, and eco-art to help build a regenerative future — where science, technology, and creativity converge.
