"Inter-relationships”
Official College of Architects of the Canary Islands COAC. Demarcation Las Palmas, Spain

1/07/2006 to 30/07/2006

We learn by knowing the terrain on which we live. We build by tracing that terrain. Creation is a way of becoming aware of how we place ourselves on that terrain and how we make our own spaces on it. Although we experience it as immutable, the terrain we inhabit is inherently unstable.
Similarly, our inhabited spaces achieve their appearance through the continuous accumulation of wealth based on the reality of the land they occupy, cluster and transform into complex structures. Over time, that wealth and the character of place sediment into concrete constructions. Urban societies build their own geology over time, just as natural elements act to consolidate the densely layered reality of nature.

Esther Pizarro has consolidated her work by drawing inspiration from the interrelation of a series of hybrid concepts that find their intellectual argument in the recognition of a certain geography as an aesthetic space on which to act. Urban geography and human geography that locate common elements in their ultimate significance.

Our artist interprets a creative field dominated by what we could call "architectures-environments" defined as scenarios at the crossroads, between scales and places, between tensions and solicitations, between limits and spaces, beyond old precincts and dichotomies. Forms, then, for a certain urbanism definitively lacking in typological models, which would manifest themselves through new couplings, new unions, new, more flexible and unprejudiced crossings of information between architecture and nature aimed, ultimately, at projecting the individual in possible geographies of transference between the latter and the world itself.

In this exhibition, Esther Pizarro brings together a series of creative lines that she has considered particularly significant in addressing the complex and definitely hybrid condition of the current urban structures that define our environment today and in proposing scenarios of encounters and no longer confrontation between old watertight categories: natural and artificial, architecture and landscape, city and territory.
