Stays, 2000
Boatex and artist's books
variable measures
Etymologically, the word " stay" has a double meaning. On the one hand, it delimits a room, a house, a building, a place; in short, it refers to a space. On the other hand, its other meaning refers to time references and has to do with a specific time that a person spends in a certain place. This double connotation is present in the installation Stays.
Seven rooms made of white boatex define different rooms in which the spectator is progressively introduced. Inside, columns of superimposed acetates project images onto blank books also made of this material. Layering and superimposition of information and experiences fill the pages of these blank books. Maps, photographs and texts of different cities complete these visual diaries of rooms.
